Our summer swim team competes in the Gwinnett County Swim League. We welcome swimmers of all skill levels, ages 5 to 18. You do not need to be a member of the Woods of Parkview Swim/Tennis Club to participate on the team. Families who join as annual members receive a discount on swim team registration fees (more info on annual membership).

Announcements and Messages

• Registration : complete your forms and mail, along with your check, to Patty Carr. Her address is on the registration form. Registration deadline: April 12, 2008
• Meet Volunteer Duty Each family is required to provide one parent to work one half of every meet.
  A master schedule will be posted at the start of the season at the pool clubhouse. We will do our best to schedule your duty based on the preferences you submitted at registration. Those with home meet only tasks will be scheduled for other duties or as floaters at away meets. If you have a conflict with your assignment, we ask that you arrange a swap and let the team know (this will help lighten the load for the team leaders).
• After Practice Swimming The Woods of Parkview Homeowners Association allows us to use its facilities free of charge for swim team activites (practice, meets, team parties). In return, we are asked to respect the association's swim and tennis club membership policies. Non-club members are asked to leave the pool facility after their practice. If you are not a club member, please consider that outside swim and tennis memberships are available for $395 a year, a rate which is very competitive with local neighborhoods based on the quality of the facilities. • Team Communication : we EXCLUSIVELY will communicate via email this season (parent meetings, practice and swim meet schedules, etc). If you do not already receive swim team emails, then it’s your responsibility to send a message to Kathy FitzSimons, kjfitzsimons@mindspring.com to add your email.

• Our new head coach is Halley Espy. She is completing her BS at Ga Tech in International Affairs with a Concentration in European Studies. She has 7 years coaching experience with 4 as head coach. She was in the Georgia Tech Club Swimming for 4 years, 4years Varsity Letter/ 4years State H.S. swimmer, 8 years USS swimming with SwimAtlanta Sugarloaf. She spent 14 years in summer league. She was an Academic All-American H.S. Swimmer.
